Description

  • Diagram made up of vertical, horizontal bars or other kind of chart on each level.
  • The height of the bars is proportional to the values associated with the different category elements.
  • Each bar is drillable to descend into the lower category (up to 5 sub-levels can be set).
  • An additional measure can be set to calculate a ratio
  • A trend line is applicable on the higher-level graph.
  • Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this graph.

How-To Video

Parameters

  • Dimension 1 : Dimension 1
  • Dimension 2 to 5 : [Optional] Drill dimensions
  • Measure 1 : Measure 1 (ratio numerator if measure 2 is provided)
  • Measure 2 : [Optional] Measure 2 (ratio denominator)

Animations

  • Click on a level 1 column to go down to level 2 for the dimension value 1 chosen.
  • Same for level 2 to level 5.

Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph. By default, the link is active only on the last level of drill, change the option in the extended parameter (selection) to activate the link on each level.

Settings

Here you can find instructions for accessing settings for Need4viz graphics: Format Custom Element.

For the DrillBar, the available parameters are :

Global

  • Palette and Style
    • General : You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.

Extended parameters

  • Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
  • Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
  • X_Axis & Y_Axis → See the user guide for the “Axes” section here
  • Options
    • Zooming : Select here the kind of zooming to activate on the chart
    • Chart type : This setting allows you to define the orientation of the bars and the type of graph desired for each level. The horizontal orientation of bars can not be used with line/curve renderer.
    • Chart colors : This setting allows you to fix a unique color or different color for each dimension value. You can also set a gradient color mode. In case of monochrome chart, by default the first value of the palette applied to the chart is selected, however you can specifically choose a custom color here.
    • Outlines & Markers : These settings allow you to change the style of lines & outlines and to show or hide or change the markers on the lines. You can also change the size of the lollipop bubbles here. Custom Marker shape (or custom marker url) can be used.
    • Column border : This setting allows you to specify the corner radius of column border (all corners or only top corners).
    • Pies : Change here the corner radius of the pies slices and add an empty inner hole (to make a donut)
    • Shadow : This setting allows you to draw a colored shadow around the columns.
  • Selection → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
  • Controls → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
  • Tooltip → See the user guide for the “Tooltip” section here
  • Legend → See the user guide for the “Legend” section here
  • Labels
    • Value Labels : This parameter allows you to specify the style of the value label and to hide or display them.
    • Bars Labels : This parameter allows you to place values in bars and define which value to display in the bars charts.
    • Lines labels : this parameter allows you to define which value to display in the lines charts. Values can be displayed inside or outside the marker.
    • Pies labels : this parameter allows you to define which value to display in the pies charts.
  • Calculation
    • Sorting : This setting allows you to define a sort on each level of the chart.
    • Aggregation : Change here the aggregation function of the chart (for instance, choose average when using a ratio)
    • Aggregate column : This setting allows you to add an aggregated column or not and to define its position.
    • Average line : You can set here an average line on each level of the chart. To display the average value on the line you can use %V% variable in the text label.
  • Measure
    • Measure options : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name). You can specify the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the precision of measure and percentages. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
    • Color Min/Max: Set the min/max highlighting here (specify the color for the value and/or the marker/column).
    • Threshold : This setting allows you to fix the threshold for “negative values” (default is 0) and the colors for negative and positive values.
  • Trend
    • Plotting : This setting allows you to display a regression curve or not and to set its title.
    • Calculation method : This setting allows you to choose a calculation method (linear or exponential regression)
    • Line : This setting allows you to display or not the markers on the curve. It also allows you to define the style of the line.
