Common Settings for "Menu" section in Extended Parameters
This is the details of the “Menu” settings you can find in the Extended Parameters section of the N4V elements.
Updated in Need4Viz 2025.2.10
- Menu
- Fullscreen: This setting enable/disable the full screen icon in the upper right corner. This setting may not appear in the “Menu” section of some charts.
- Data table: This setting adds an item under the menu icon in the upper right corner. The data table item displays data used in the all chart (micro-cube) in a popup. The data can be filtered/sorted. The title of the popup window (the same as the menu item) can be changed as the size of the popup in the chart window. The table can be paginated. By default, data displayed in the table view can be copied directly into an Excel sheet (with a [Ctrl]+[C] on the data table view → [Ctrl]+[V] in Excel). Measures will be displayed in data table view with the same formatting as in the chart (thousand & decimal separators, unit…) but copied as number without formatting in Excel. A submenu is by default displayed in front of each column header of the data table; this submenu as well as the filter bar and the calculation line can be hidden. Some table columns may be hidden when opened. A “basic” mode (100% accessible) can also be chosen instead of the “advanced” mode.
- Information: This setting adds an item under the menu icon in the upper right corner. A popup information displays one or two tabs : one for your custom/help message (for instance to explain/describe the chart. As for Chart title, %SECTION% and %DR% variables can be used in the help content), the second tab displays technical information about the chart & data (chart ref, doc CUID, number of lines, number dimensions & measures, distinct values of dimensions). You can enable/disable the first or second tab. The title of the popup window (the same as the menu item) and the title of each tab can be changed. The size of the popup can be defined by a percentage of frame occupation (by default) or by setting width & height (in pixels).
- Data Table View features : in front of each column name of the Data Table View, you can access some features through a specific menu with items
- Display : the corresponding column can be hidden, or you can display all the previous hidden columns
- Groups : the values of the corresponding column will be grouped. Many columns can be grouped simultaneously. All groups can be expanded/collapsed or removed.
- Calculation : the aggregation function used for the column can be changed. By default, distinct count is used for dimension columns and sum is used for measure columns. The same aggregation function is used for each group. Available calculations are Distinct count, Count, Sum, Min, Max and Average.
- Filter : the kind of filter for the corresponding column can be changed. By default, the free input text is used as filter for each column. This filter accepts the operators
>, >=, <, <=, =, !=
. The filter type can be changed to mono selection value or multi selection value (tick the values then click outside the list to validate). All filters can also be cleared simultaneously.
- Copy data : by default, you can click anywhere in the table cell and make a [Ctrl]+[C] to copy the data (then [Ctrl]+[V] in Excel to past them). But you can also use this item to copy/paste all the filtered data to Excel.
