Drillable Word Cloud

This is the Need4Viz Wiki page for the Drillable Word Cloud widget.

Updated for N4V 2025.2.10

• Drillable diagram based on a hierarchy of up to 5 levels of dimensions.
  
• 1 measure defines the size of the word representing the dimension at the level of hierarchy displayed.

• Dimension 1 : Dimension for the first level of the wordcloud
• Dimension 2 to 5 : [Optional] Dimension for the second to fifth level of the wordcloud

• Measure 1 : Measure for the word size

• Display the tooltip when you move the mouse over the words.
• Drilldown in the sub-level when you click on a word. To go back to the previous level, click on the button upper top of the chart.

Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph. By default,the link is active only on the last level of drill, change the option in the extended parameter (selection) to activate the link on each level.

For the Tree Map for hierarchy, the available parameters are:

Global

• Palette and Style
  • General : You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.

Extended parameters

• Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here

• Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here

• Options
  • Disposition : Define here min and max rotation angles for the words and the number of rotation you allow for the words (between the min and max angles defined).
  • Colors : This setting allows you to apply a gradient or a monochrome color.
  • Labels : This setting allows you to set the min and max sizes of the labels.

• Measure
  • General display : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
