Description

  • 3-axis point diagram (abscissa, ordinate, bubble size) representing a set of data.
  • Possibility to drill in each bubble to display new dimensional bubble chart.

How-To Video

Parameters

  • Dimension 1 : Dimension to represent each bubble (displayed in the legend)
  • Dimension 2 to 5 : [Optional] Drill Dimensions
  • Mesaure 1 : Measure for the X Axis
  • Measure 2 : Measure for the Y Axis
  • Measure 3 : [Optional] Measure for the size of the bubble (Z Axis)

Animations

  • Display the tooltip when you move the mouse over a bubble.
  • Click on an item of the legend will hide/display the corresponding bubble and resize automatically the chart
  • Drawing a rectangle in the chart with the mouse will automatically zoom inside this area. Click on the “Reset zoom” button to come back to the original view.

Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph. By default, the link is active only on the last level of drill, change the option in the extended parameter (selection) to activate the link on each level.

Settings

You can find instructions for accessing settings for Need4viz graphics: Format Custom Element.

For the Bubble Chart, the available parameters are :

Global

  • Palette and Style
    • General: You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.

Extended parameters

  • Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
  • Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
  • X_Axis & Y_Axis → See the user guide for the “Axes” section here
    • Axis position : You can use the “Crossing 0” option to display the X or/and Y axis on 0 value
  • Options
    • Labels: This setting allows you to set the label options (Hide, Font, Outline). You can choose to apply the font settings to the hyperlinks.
    • Color : You can choose here to not apply a gradient color on the bubbles.
    • Markers : Choose here the markers shape (bubble, square, diamond…) opacity and outline thickness

  • Tooltip → See the user guide for the “Tooltip” section here
  • Legend → See the user guide for the “Legend” section here
  • Measure_X
    • General display: This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
    • Aggregation : Define here the aggregate function to use when drilling
    • Display vertical line 1 : Define here settings to add a vertical line (representing the min/max/median/average/fixed value) with an optional text (use %V% to show the calculated value).
    • Display vertical line 2 : Define here settings to add a vertical line (representing the min/max/median/average/fixed value) with an optional text (use %V% to show the calculated value).
    • Display vertical band : Define here settings to add a vertical band between 2 values (min/max/median/average/fixed values) with an optional text (use %V1% and %V2% to show the calculated value).
  • Measure_Y
    • General display: This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
    • Aggregation : Define here the aggregate function to use when drilling
    • Display horizontal line 1 : Define here settings to add a horizontal line (representing the min/max/median/average/fixed value) with an optional text (use %V% to show the calculated value).
    • Display horizontal line 2 : Define here settings to add a horizontal line (representing the min/max/median/average/fixed value) with an optional text (use %V% to show the calculated value).
    • Display horizontal band : Define here settings to add a horizontal band between 2 values (min/max/median/average/fixed values) with an optional text (use %V1% and %V2% to show the calculated value).
  • Measure_Z
    • General display: This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
    • Aggregation : Define here the aggregate function to use when drilling
    • Bubble sizes : Here you can define the min and max size of the bubbles (in percentage)
