This is the N4V FOR WEBI Wiki page for the Multi Chart widget.

Render

Description

  • Visualization of 1 to 2 dimensions that can render as Lines (standard Lines, Polar lines) Areas (standard Area, Stacked Areas, Percentage Stacked Area, Polar areas, Polar stacked areas), Columns (standard Column, Stacked Columns, Percentage Stacked Columns, Polar columns, Polar stacked columns), Bars (standard Bars, Stacked Bars, Percentage Stacked Bars, Polar Bars) depending on the chart type chosen.
  • Select 1 dimension and up to 10 measures or 2 dimensions and 1 measure.
  • Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this graph.

How-To Video

Parameters

  • Dimension 1 : Dimension 1
  • Dimension 2 : [Optional] dimension 2
  • Measure 1 : Measure 1
  • Measure 2 : [Optional] measure 2
  • Measure 8 : [Optional] measure 8
  • Measure 9 : [Optional] measure 9
  • Measure 10 : [Optional] measure 10
  • Colors: [Optional] Specific color for the dimension value of the dimension 1 (in RGB format - ex. “#F546A3”)

Animations

  • Display the tooltip(s) when you move the mouse over the points of the chart.
  • You can change dynamically the appearance of the chart by selecting the type of chart in the list box at the upper left.
  • If break is defined on the main Y-Axis, fly over the columns to unfold the chart.

Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph.

Settings

You can find instructions for accessing settings for Need4Viz graphics: Format Custom Element.

For the MultiChart, the available parameters are:

Global

  • Palette and Style
    • General : You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.

Extended parameters

  • Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
  • Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
  • Chart
    • Default chart : This setting allows you to choose the default type of the chart displayed (lines, columns, areas…)
    • Menu display : You can hide here the upper left menu (only the default chart will be used)
    • Custom menu : Set here the charts that will be hidden in the upper left menu
  • X_Axis & Y_Axis → See the user guide for the “Axes” section here
    • Y_Axis1 : This is the first (and main) Y axis used in the chart. Other optional Y axes can be defined in the Options-measure section.
    • Common Y-axes settings : You can choose here to align all the Y axis on their threshold value (0 by default)
    • Axis values formatting : You can define the input measure as a timestamp (values = number of milliseconds) then you can set the expected format (for instance hh:mm for the values label, the axis grid values and the tooltip)
  • Options
    • Zooming : Select here the kind of zooming to activate on the chart
    • Colors : This setting allows you to choose kind of colors for the chart.
    • Lines & Areas : Common settings for lines and areas. Choose here the style of lines (curve, broken line, steps) and for the step style, the type of steps.
    • Columns & Bars : Common settings for columns and bars. Choose here the shape type of columns and bars (rectangle, pyramid or lollipop), the width and corner radius (all corners or only top corners) of columns/bars border. you can also choose to display labels inside the bars.
    • Shadow : This setting allows you to draw a colored shadow around the columns.
    • Null values: This setting allows you to manage the null values. By default, null values are displayed as 0 value. You can choose to only hide the label or hide the entire null value.
    • Labels : This setting allows you to globally hide/show labels
    • Markers : This setting allows you to set the markers (Hide, Font)
    • Sort : This setting allows you to apply a specific sorting (ascendant/descendant) on the categories (first dimension global values) and/or the series (second dimension or measures values).
    • Separate stacking : In case of multiple axis, you can define here to stack the values on each axis
  • Selection → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
  • Controls → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
  • Tooltip → See the user guide for the “Tooltip” section here
  • Legend → See the user guide for the “Legend” section here
  • Options-measure 1,2,… 10
    • Values : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the precision of measure and percentages. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
    • Labels : Specify here the value to display as well as the font to apply
    • Chart: Here you can deactivate the chart when opening (click on the corresponding item in the legend to reactivate it).
    • Display only following labels : You can choose here to display only min, max, first and/or last values of the measure.
    • Color Min/Max: Set the min/max highlighting here (specify the color for the value and/or the marker/column).
    • Threshold : This setting allows you to fix the threshold for “negative values” (default is 0) and the colors for negative and positive values.
    • Outlines & Markers : These settings allow you to change the style of lines & outlines and to show or hide or change the markers on the lines. You can also change the size of the lollipop bubbles here. You can define here the shape of markers for the measure. A list of predefined shapes is available but you can also define your own shape based on a PNG image link. The value can be set inside or outside the marker.
  • Options-measure 2,3,… 10
    • Y Axis : Choose here to use the main Y-Axis for the measure or another Y-Axis
    • New Y-Axis properties : Set here the new Y-Axis defined for the measure
