This is the Need4Viz Wiki page for the filter table.
Since Need4Viz 2025.3.4
Render
Description
- Present information in a horizontal table.
- From 1 to 20 dimensions and from 1 to 20 indicators.
- Ability to filter all the fields in the table dynamically (filters positioned in the header of the table).
- Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this graph.
- The table filter can be open as a modal popup window. In this case, use a specific formula to hide/unhide the element and use the modal control (input control or variable) to affect your formula.
Parameters
- Dimensions 1 to 20 : Choose here the dimensions to display in the table.
- Measures 1 to 20 : Choose here the measures to display in the table.
Animations
- Scroll the scrollbar to display all the rows of the table.
- Use the menu to filter and sort values.
Navigation
Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph.
Filtering usage
Use the filters above each column to filter and limit table data.
Advanced searches can be performed by using the following operators:
<, <=, >, >=, =, *, !, {, }, ||,&&, [empty], [nonempty], rgx:
| Operator | Description | Type | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| < | Match values lower than search term | number | <1412 |
| <= | Match values lower than or equal to search term | number | <=1412 |
| > | Match values greater than search term | number | >1412 |
| >= | Match values greater than or equal to search term | number | >=1412 |
| = | Exact match: match only the whole search term(s) | string / number | =Paris |
| * | Partial match of search term(s) (default operator) | string / number | *Par |
| ! | Match data different from search term(s) | string / number | !Paris |
| { | Match data starting with search term | string / number | {P |
| } | Match data ending with search term | string / number | }ris |
| || | Match data containing at least one of the search term(s) | string / number | Paris || London |
| && | Match data containing all search terms | string / number | >4.2 && <2025 |
| [empty] | Match empty data | [empty] | |
| [nonempty] | Match data which is not empty | [nonempty] | |
| rgx: | Use a regular expression to match data | rgx:de$ | |
Be wary of whitespace in expressions: >= 10/11/2012 is incorrect, >=10/11/2012 is correct.
Settings
Here you can find instructions for accessing settings for Need4viz graphics: Format Custom Element.
For the filter table, the available parameters are :
Extended parameters
- Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
- Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
- Options
- Theme : This setting allows you to choose a theme of presentation personalized or not.

- Modal
- General options for modal window : Choose here to display the Table Filter as a modal window. In this case, you can define the width of the table inside the component, around background color can be set, as the closing button style.
- Input control options (on closing) : Define here the input control(s) to reset when closing the modal window. You can choose to reset all or only specific input controls.
- Webi variables options (on closing) :Define here the Webi variable(s) to reset when closing the modal window. You can set a specific value to affect the Webi variable when closing the modal.
- Toolbar
- General options : This setting allows you to display or not the toolbar as well as the number of lines. It also allows you to define the label for the number of lines displayed.
- Colors & font : You can set here the style of the toolbar (color, gradient, font).
- Lines display : Define here to display the number of lines and set the text to display in front of the number.
- Hide columns options : This setting allows you to activate or not the masking option and to define the label of the column masking menu. It also allows you to add or not the total selection in the list.
- Help : Help button can be hidden. The content of help can be defined with your own value.
- Paging
- Paging option : This setting allows you to choose the desired paging mode. Paging control bar can be placed in the toolbar or in the table footer (this option give more flexibility to reduce width of the global table).
- Fixed number of records per pages : This setting allows you to define the number of records per page to display.
- Selection list of reccords per pages : This setting allows you to define the label to display in front of the lists as well as the number of records per page to display.
- Sort
- Sort columns options : This setting allows you to display or not the sorting of the columns. The date type columns can be indicated here (dates in French or English format) allowing a correct sorting of this type of fields.
- Filter
- General filter type : This setting allows you to define the type of filter you want and the position of the foldable filter bar.
- Filter properties : This setting allows you to highlight or not the filtered columns, to display or not the filter cleaning button and to choose the time for the auto-filter.
- Dimension filter type : This setting allows you to choose the types of filters you want for the 20 dimensions and their watermark.
- Measure filter type : This setting allows you to choose the types of filters you want for the 20 measurements and their watermark.
- Controls
- Affect selection to a Webi control : This setting allows you to display or not the selection validation buttons and the kind of selection to send (by optionally adding checkboxes or radio buttons). If “All filtered lines” is selected, the the concatenation of all dimensions is sent to te Webi control for all filtered lines
- Control to affect on validation : Define kind and name of the Webi control to affect (Input Control or Variable). In cas of madal use, you can also choose to close automatically the popup after validation of selection.
- Dimensions sent to the control : Define here the dimensions to send to the Webi control on validation. By default (no specification), for each line selected, all dimensions are concatenated and sent as one value to the Control. You can choose to sent only 1 or many dimensions by specifying the indexs in a comma separated list (ex. “1,3” → for each line, dimensions 1 and 3 will be concatenated and sent to the Webi control).
- Columns
- Unit to fix the width : Choose here the unit that will be used for fixing width of columns defined in the section below.
- Fix columns width : Set for each column if the width should be fixed. The width of each column is automatically calculated depending on the full content of the column, the size of the table… Even if the width is fixed, it can happen that it is not applied as wished because of a too small window, too many columns… If you set a width to 0, the column will be hidden.
- Headers
- Header formatting : This setting allows you to choose the position of the header as well as its writing style & the background color of the header as well as its intensity. (Setting enabled only for custom design theme)
- Header size : Set here the padding value inside the cells. A less padding will reduce the global height of the cells. You can alse hide the header.
- Header borders : Define here the cells borders (thickness and color) of the header.
- Header dimensions titles : This setting allows you to choose the titles of the labels for the 20 dimensions. As for Chart title, %SECTION% variable can be used in the titles.

- Dimension Alerter 1 to 10 : You can define here up to 10 alerts on the dimensions values. Select the dimension index concerned (feeding dimension number, from 1 to 20), the alerter usage (on cell/line), the operator & operand, respect of cass and style & background color of the alert. You can also select the column object that will be used by the alerter (by default, the current column is used but for instance, you can use another object in the table and hide it by setting its width to 0).
