Render

Description

  • US tile map is a representation of the United States where each state (use 2-letters state as the first dimension to identify each country) has the same size. → Available codes in N4V Maps
  • The color of the title is given by the measure in a defined range value (2 to 6 ranges can be set).
  • The tooltip is optionally given as a second dimension (otherwise the 2-letters country is displayed).
  • Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this map.

How-To Video

Parameters

  • Dimension 1 : 2-character US State code → Available codes in N4V Maps
  • Dimension 2 : [optional] Tooltip (for example, State name such as “California” for “CA”)
  • Measure 1 : Measure to display (change color of the tile)

Animations

  • Move the mouse over the tiles to see a tooltip appear.

Use the Web Intelligence native element link function to make this widget interact with other elements on the same report (native Web Intelligence blocks (tables or charts) and / or other Need4Viz widgets). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the widget.

Extended parameters

  • Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
  • Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
  • Options
    • Style of tiles : Choose the shape of the tiles (Hexagon, Circle, Diamond, or Square).
    • Labels : This setting allows you to choose a color for the label.
    • Colors : Set the default color of the tiles (tiles with no value).

  • Legend → See the user guide for the “Legend” section here
  • Ranges
    • General : This setting allows you to choose between automatic or manual intervals.
    • Range 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 : This setting allows you to the minimum and maximum value of the interval as well as its color.
    • Out of range : This setting allows you to add or not an “out of range” and to choose its color.
  • Measure
    • Measure options: This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy. The measurement display format (standard - e.g.: 2,345.67, compact - e.g.: 2.3K or compact long - e.g.: 2.3 thousand) can also be defined.
