- The color of the zone is indicated by a measure.
- Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this graph.
How-To Video
Parameters
- Zone code : Area code (state, region …) → Available codes in N4V maps
- Pie dimension : [Optional] measurement breakdown (pie chart)
- Zone color: [Optional] Measurement for the color of the region / department
- Pie/Bubble - Measure 1 : [Optional] Measurement (colors for the pie chart or the bubble if no dimension 2)
- Pie/Bubble - Measure 2 : [Optional] Measurement of the size of the pie charts or the bubble
- Pie colors: [Optional] Specific color for the dimension value of the pie (in RGB format - ex. “#F546A3”)
Animations
- Depending on the options set, on flyover, display of measurements (pie chart …) or by clicking on the region, opening of mini-charts in separate windows.
Navigation
Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph.
Settings
You can find instructions for accessing settings for Need4viz graphics: Format Custom Element.
For the Mapline , the available parameters are :
Global
- Palette and Style
- General : You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.
Extended parameters
- Map
- Choice of the map : Choose a map from the list.
- Or manual filling : You can enter the code of desired map (instead of choosing a map in the list). If this field is set, the value selected in the list is ignored. You can use the %SECTION% parameter in this field.
- Web Provider Selection : Choose the Web provider for the background online map
- Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
- Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
- Options
- Zoom & Panning : This setting allows you to enable/disable zoom, define zoom button position and set the maximum zoom depth. You can also activate a zoom on drag (zoom on a selected zone), then the panning of the map is done by Ctrl+Drag combination. You can define the Maw Zoom-Out to display a larger map on default view (by default, the initial view is centered and zoomed on the mapline zones).
- Web map : Set the opacity and display here in the web map background legend.
- Layers colors : These settings allow you to change colors of zones (opacity, default, null values, border, hover). Default & hover colors are applied only if no division meausre is provided. You can also choose gradient colors for the map & the mini-chart (bubbles are not rendered in gradient colors but with variable opacity)
- Selection → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
- Controls → See the user guide for the “Selection” section here
- Labels
- Labels style : This setting allows you to set style of the labels of zones (Font, Outline).
- Labels of zone : You can change the technical property name of the zone's name in the map file. This name will be displayed (or hide) on the map. By default, “name” is the technical property of the zone's name in N4V map files. You can also choose to display the name of no-data zones.
- Division measure : You can choose to display the value of the division color measure
- Chart measures labels : You can choose to display the labels of the chart measures
- Chart measure 1 : Choose here to display/hide the chart measure 1 value and/or the null/0 values
- Chart measure 2 : Choose here to display/hide the chart measure 2 value and/or the null/0 values
- Tooltip → See the user guide for the “Tooltip” section here
- Legend → See the user guide for the “Legend” section here
- Layers_Markers
- Options for additional markers layers (if exist) : Enable the optional layers if available for the selected map. These layers (defined by a name) are fixed points (lat/lon coordinates) with a name and a marker. They are defined in a file on the Need4Viz server.
- Layers to display : Specifiy here the name(s) of the layer(s) you want to display on the map. Keep empty to display all the available layers. Use a “;” as a separator in the list.
- Labels for layers : This setting allows you to set the options of the labels of zones (Font, Outline)
- Layers_Lines
- Options for additional lines layers (if exist) : Enable the optional layers if available for the selected map. These layers (defined by a name) are geometry of type lines (with the same coordinates system than the main map) with a name and optional attributes.
- Layers_Zones
- Options for additional zones layers (if exist) : Enable the optional layers if available for the selected map. These layers (defined by a name) are geometry of type polygons (with the same coordinates system than the main map) with a name optional attributes.
- Divisions
- Divisions measures : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy of the regions. You can also set a custom label for the measure & a specific display for positive/negative figures. Measure value can be hidden in the tooltip.
- Palette Colors : Define here the palette applied to color the zones. If “Default colors” is set, the palette defined in global option will be used (or specific colors defined in Manual ranges will be used). If Webi palette (or Custom palette) is defined, this palette will be used (specific color set for manual ranges will be ignored in this case). You can also choose to make a choropleth map by ticking the corresponding option and defining the min and max colors to use. In case of choropleth, you can fix the min and max values corresponding to the choropleth colors.

- Mini-chart in pop-up : By default, pies are displayed on the map but you can choose here to display a mini-chart in a pop-up wich appears when clicking on the map zone. The settings also allows you to choose the size of the window, the title of the popup (you can use %ZONE_NAME% variable to display the zone name in the title) and the message to display in the tooltip. You can also choose the type of chart used and the order in which the values are displayed.
