Render

Description

  • Map allowing the display of a bubble or a pie chart for each division.
  • The size of the pie chart is a measure. The color of the region is indicated by a measurement.
  • A drill for each division displays a sub level (breakdown by division level 2) with the same level of information as for the first level (pie chart and color by division of level 2)
  • Possibility to use the functionality of linked elements on this graph (on the first and second levels).

Parameters

  • Zone code level 1 : Level 1 area code (state, region …) → Available codes in N4V maps
  • Zone code level 2 : Level 2 area code (department…)
  • Pie dimension : [Optional] measurement breakdown (pie chart)
  • Zone color level 1: [Optional] Measurement for the color of the level 1 areas
  • Zone color level 2: [Optional] Measurement for the color of the level 2 areas
  • Pie/Bubble - Measure 1 : [Optional] Measurement (colors for the pie chart or the bubble if no dimension 2)
  • Pie/Bubble - Measure 2 : [Optional] Measurement of the size of the pie charts or the bubble
  • Pie colors: [Optional] Specific color for the dimension value of the pie (in RGB format - ex. “#F546A3”)

Animations

  • Display the complete tooltip information when you move the mouse over a pie chart on the map.
  • Drilldown from national to region map by clicking on a region name. The region map display the same information as national map but for departements level. To go back to the national level, click on the button at the top of the region map.
  • Click on the color values on the legend to hide/display the corresponding regions/departements.

Use the Webi native element link function to make this graph interact with other elements of the same report (native Webi tables / graphs and / or Need4Viz graphs). Element binding can be defined on all objects or individually on one of the dimensions of the graph.

For the Mapline drilldown , the available parameters are:

Global

  • Palette and Style
    • General : You can use the palette tool to define the colors used to build the graph.

Extended parameters

  • Map
    • Choice of the map : Choose a map from the list.
  • Global → See the user guide for the “Global” section here
  • Menu → See the user guide for the “Menu” section here
  • Options
    • Zoom & Panning : This setting allows you to enable/disable zoom, define zoom button position and set the maximum zoom depth. You can also activate a zoom on drag (zoom on a selected zone), then the panning of the map is done by Ctrl+Drag combination.
    • Labels : This setting allows you to set the label options (Font, Outline, apply the font to the hyperlinks). You can also change the technical property name of the zone's name in the maps files (level 1 & 2). This name will be displayed (or hide) on the maps. By default, “name” is the technical property of the zone's name in Need4Viz map files.
    • Display labels on map : This setting allows you to display or not the name of the zones without data and/or the values of measures on the map. You can also choose to hide the labels of the measure(s) on the zone.
    • Colors : These settings allow you to change colors of zones (default, null values, border, hover). Default & hover colors are applied only if no division measure is provided. You can also choose gradient colors for the map & the mini-chart (bubbles are not rendered in gradient colors but with variable opacity)

    • Auto drilldown : You can drill automatically if only one value in the upper level or not.
    • Saved Drilldown : You can choose here to not save the last drilled position (when coming back to the chart, the last position is automatically displayed)

  • Division_color
    • Division color for level 1 (and level 2 if no second measure defined) : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit of regions to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy of the regions. You can also set a custom label for the measure & a specific display for positive/negative figures. It also allows the measurement to be aggregated or not. Measure value can be hidden in the tooltip.
    • Palette Colors : Define here the palette applied to color the zones. If “Default colors” is set, the palette defined in global option will be used (or specific colors defined in Manual ranges will be used). If Webi palette (or Custom palette) is defined, this palette will be used (specific color set for manual ranges will be ignored in this case).
    • Ranges calc : This setting allows you to define the ranges automatically or manually. It also allows you to choose the number of color ranges (max of 10). You can also reduce the precision of calculated range values to 0.
    • Manual ranges : out of ranges values : You can choose here the color of the values out of the ranges manually defined below.
    • Manual range 1,2,3,4 and 5 definitions : This setting allows you to choose the maximum, minimum value as well as the desired label for the range. It also allows you to choose the desired color for this same range.
  • Division_color_2
    • Division color for level 2 (only if 2 measures are defined) : This setting allows you to specify the name of the measure in the labels (replaces the Webi object name, %SECTION% N4V variable can be used in the label), the unit of regions to add as a measurement prefix or suffix as well as the measurement accuracy of the regions. You can also set a custom label for the measure & a specific display for positive/negative figures. It also allows the measurement to be aggregated or not. Measure value can be hidden in the tooltip.
    • Palette Colors : Define here the palette applied to color the zones. If “Default colors” is set, the palette defined in global option will be used (or specific colors defined in Manual ranges will be used). If Webi palette (or Custom palette) is defined, this palette will be used (specific color set for manual ranges will be ignored in this case).
    • Ranges calc : This setting allows you to define the ranges automatically or manually. It also allows you to choose the number of color ranges (max of 5 for manual definition, 10 for automatic definition). You can also reduce the precision of calculated range values to 0.
    • Manual ranges : out of ranges values : You can choose here the color of the values out of the ranges manually defined below.
    • Manual range 1,2,3,4 and 5 definitions : This setting allows you to choose the maximum, minimum value as well as the desired label for range 1. It also allows you to choose the desired color for this same range.
  • Chart_measures
    • Chart measure 1 : Settings to define the properties of measure 1 (unit & precision). You can also set a custom label for the measure and a specific display for positive/negative figures. Precision for percentage displaying of this measure in the chart can be set.
    • Chart measure 2 : Settings to define the properties of measure 2 (unit & precision). You can also set a custom label for the measure and a specific display for positive/negative figures. It also allows the measurement to be aggregated or not. Measure value can be hidden in the tooltip.
  • Bubbles (bubbles are displayed in case of no dimension 2 provided)
    • Display : These settings allow you to display or not bubbles
    • Colors : You can define here the colors scale for the bubbles and set to display or not the coloring scale in the legend
    • Size : You can define here the size of the bubbles
  • Pies (pies are displayed in case of dimension 2 provided)
    • Tooltip : These settings allow you to choose kind of value/percentage to display in the chart/tooltip measure.
    • Pies : Choose to display/hide the pies. Set here the color and thickness of the borders of pies (for both pies on map or pies in pop-up). You can also adjust the size of the pie charts by the chart zoom factor.
    • Mini-chart in pop-up : By default, pies are displayed on the map, but you can choose here to display a mini-chart in a pop-up which appears when clicking on the map zone. The settings also allow you to choose the size of the window, the title of the popup (you can use %ZONE_NAME% variable to display the zone name in the title) and the message to display in the tooltip. You can also choose the type of chart used and the order in which the values ​​are displayed.
    • Mini-chart scrollable (pop-up) : You can define here the scrollable mode (only for bars/line mini-chart in a pop-up) of the chart. Two modes are available: a scrollbar appears when resizing the pop-up or fix the number of categories to display during scrolling.
    • Mini-chart colors (pop-up) : You can define here the colors of mini-chart in the pop-up. By default, each category of your chart will have a different color (colors from the palette), but you can choose to make the color that vary with the measure value (you can define a min/max value colors)
    • Mini-chart title (pop-up) : You can set a title (remind of totals for different measures of the chart) for the mini-chart in separate window. You can also set fonts for the title of the mini-chart.
    • Mini-chart labels (pop-up) : You can choose the format (value and/or percentage) of measure displayed in the mini-chart in separate window. You can also set fonts for the labels of the mini-chart.
