MapLine Drilldown Description

This is the Need4Viz Wiki page for the MapLine drill down with pie chart.

Map of the regions of France allowing the display of a pie chart for each region.
The size of the pie chart is a measure. The color of the region is indicated by a measurement.
A drill for each region displays a regional level (breakdown by department) with the same level of information as for the national level (pie chart by department and color by department).

• Dimension 1 : Region code
• Dimension 2 : Departement code
• Dimension 3 : Categories for pie chart

• Region 1 : Measure for the region/departement color

• Mesaure 1 : Measure for the slice size of the pies
• Measure 2 : Measure for the size of the pies

• Display the complete tooltip information when you move the mouse over a pie chart on the map.
• Drilldown from national to region map by clicking on a region name. The region map display the same information as national map but for departements level. To go back to the national level, click on the button at the top of the region map.
• Click on the color values on the legend to hide/display the corresponding regions/departements.

For the MapLine, the available settings are :

• Global
  • Palette and Style
    • General : You can use th palette tool to define the colors used to build the chart
• Title
  • Design
    • General : define the text and position of the title or choose to hide it
• Color Region
  • Design
    • General : you can choose to not color the regions
    • Cut parts : define how many ranges will be set to color the regions
